Last year, we traveled to Punta Cana for my brother-in-law’s wedding. But having only three days to enjoy the sun and beach was just not enough. So we decided a return trip was in order.
This time we stayed as the Excellence Punta Cana, an adults only resort. We opted for adults only because after dealing with children all year round, sometimes you just need a break. The waves are very strong in this area. Quite often a red flag for no swimming in the ocean is posted because the conditions are just too severe. True enough, I temporarily through out my back when I attempted to throw myself into a wave. I was no match for the force of water. Last time we went to Punta Cana, the resort was located on a popular stretch of beach that many resorts call home. In contrast, this resort could not be more isolated. A walk in either direction along the beach bears no other resorts. At any rate, you can see what I mean by looking at the pictures of the beach, that there is truly nothing around. Not even armed soldiers patrolling the beach. Nice to have some privacy.
