Georgian Bay

For the most part, the weather was cloudy and overcast, rainy and cool, less than favourable conditions for any vacation let alone one of a photographic nature.

Harsh Sunlight Black and White

During a trip to Costa Rica last year, I was drawn to this majestic rock on a point near Playa Conchal. After the sun had risen, this jagged rock jutting out from the ocean looked absolutely majestic against the back drop of a clear blue sky. But the harsh sunlight created an extreme dynamic range of exposure, the perfect fit for some black and white pictures.

Waterfalls and Rivers in Costa Rica

Where Trees Wallow in Water

The Loyalist Parkway and Bath Road (hwy #33) winds its way along the edge of Lake Ontario from Picton to Kingston, Ontario. The shoreline along this route is dotted with trees listing south towards the sun, leaning precariously over the water.

Niagara Falls

But as with any trip, I enjoy rising before the sun and getting some pictures. This time I ventured over to Niagara Falls to get some early dawn shots of this natural wonder.

April 20, 2017This beach on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, has been featured as a romantic backdrop for several movies and music videos. April 6, 2017In landscape photography, there are many different ingredients to make the perfect photo—good lighting, a main subject, an intriguing background, and an interesting composition.
