The first thing you notice when you see this beautiful girl is her blonde hair…a gorgeous mop of all natural curls that quite literally stand out. Her parents want her to cut it because there’s quite a bit of upkeep of the hair especially in the mornings, but she’ll have none of it…and so far, she’s winning out.

We took some pictures outside on the railway tracks, but my favourite portraits of her are the ones we did in the studio. Here, we didn’t have to wait for cloud coverage to diffuse the harsh overhead sun as one of the benefits of shooting in the studio is that the lighting can be completely controlled. Here she, and especially her gorgeous hair, stand out against the thunder-grey background.

These portraits were taken in Markham at the same time as her sister. The two siblings, separated by less than two years, really fed off each other in regards to posing. Quite often, her sister, while standing out of the frame, would make her laugh resulting in high pitch squeals akin to sounds that one might hear in the African jungle at night instead of being emitted from this pretty girl. This produced some great looks, smiles, and even some laughs for me to capture.

At the end of the shoot, we also took a bunch of pictures of the sisters together, but those pictures will have to be saved for a future post.
